How can I believe, trust or confide an authority that:

Is against the stream of time: regressive not progressive

looks only to its past and never to the future

has an exclusivity only for itself

defends wrongdoers and aggressors against victims

its own adherents are saved and others’ sent to hill

veils and absorbs truths only to defend itself

issues untestable and absolute truths

kills people and does not confess its own sins

fears an idea, a thought, or a word, even though his beliefs are based on a Word

is scared of a book or an opinion

receives convertors with pride and brag, while its own members are mistreated

when it had the power and command in its hand had condemned teachings without grasping or comprehending their cores and gist.

With easiness and by just a pen’s streak determines a human being’s destiny condemns and excommunicates and send to hill

it is impossible to revolt contra or to destitute, because its dimensions are higher than of any other dictators, because it is appointed by God himself!

does not give anyone the occasion to express their own opinions

wills that truths must be conformed to its teaching and not that teaching must be conformed to truths.

is personal and personified.

does not obey what it demands / puts others to obey, since it obeys only the Absolute!

It commits errors and still commits them notwithstanding it turns to others with a stubborn insolence

its National Security does shiver for the most trivial reasons but when the slightest puff leans it sways with

identifies itself, and uses and takes advantages of things it criticises and defines as negative, offensive, evil…

is not aware of the fact that All thrones might be threatened at any moment, no matter how highest their greatness is, and although this historical fact it still is stubborn!

does not maintain any promise!

thinks that its own brain is somewhat absolute, and the brains of “ordinary” people are too poor to ponder over issues and questions!

The blessed fragrance of the Pastor*

When we were kids, we used to listen to fairy tales… Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,  the Frog King From Aesop fables to the Grimm Brothers, they filled up our imagination and were so alive that we even dreamed that we were part of them, doing extraordinary deeds, like supernatural heroes; kings and shepherds, rich and poor, have all been part of our childhood and played their irreplaceable role in our way to adulthood.

Shepherds were then primitive people, keeping their flocks at the rhythm of the seasons, blowing their magic horns to gather the sheep and leading a life that was bucolic only in a child’s mind. It was as if poverty and ignorance were goods to be preserved, wrapped in an aura of beauty and simplicity… The imagery could resist time. The metaphor of a watchful, attentive shepherd, still persists in traditions and religions, in which the highest representative of God is like a shepherd, taking care of his flock, leading the way to a paradise where only the true faithful will have a place. However, tradition and religions are no longer what they used to be. Nor pastors are. Humans now live in a society of abundance, in a sophisticated era and acquired a fondness for comfort and well-being. We should not blame them; after all, why can’t a shepherd take a warm bath immersed in exquisite oils and spread exotic fragrances all over his body? His Holiness, the highest Shepherd, is sophisticated, enjoying the present, leading a flock of millions of souls who follow his teachings of a simple life, in which luxury is a sin. It is because of His Holiness pleasurable simplicity and holy example that His flock obediently gathers when He blows his tragic flute, forgiving His sin of ordering, purchasing and using expensive and rare perfumes. The Catholics – the flock – may now buy all the riches they wish, as a gesture of solidarity towards their Shepherd. No sin, no remorse, no burning in Hell. When the Pope goes to Heaven, the Creator will be impressed, not with His teachings and prayers, but with the delicate odour that exudes from his body. It is undoubtedly much more agreeable than the nauseating smell of shit.

*This essay s a critique of this news: “Pope commissions custom-blended eau de cologne.  Fragrance, which mixes hints of lime tree, verbena and grass, was concocted by Italian boutique perfume maker…

He is picky about his robes and his red shoes are tailor-made, but Pope Benedict has taken the meaning of bespoke to a whole new level by ordering a custom-blended eau de cologne just for him.” (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/mar/14/pope-commissions-eau-de-cologne)

Silence or talkative

In an enthusiastic and euphoric title, “La Vie”, a Christian Magazine, released on 26/01/2012, says: “Benedict, a master of silence”, referring to his message for the World Day of Social Communications, in which Pope Benedict XVI praised the silence as a way of communication. Or more accurately, the necessary alliance of silence and speech to enrich our relationships with others and our relationship with God!

However, in His message He did not observe silence rather He was eloquent and talked a lot!

We often read, in newspapers and magazines, reportages about places where some famous people have lived, some of the greats of human history, such as artists, writers and leaders, etc., and reportages are often an advertising urging people to visit these places. May be such visits would be interesting and useful, as one may infer about their lives and understand better what these greats experienced! Or may lead to a greater understanding of their works or their writings…

But when such reportages invite with enthusiasm, for example, to visit the musical instrument which a famous composer played by, sounds ridiculous!

Since it looks like paying a visit to a dictionary from which a great writer chose his words!

Or visiting the colours with which a known painter painted his paintings!

Or visiting the mountain from which an eminent sculptor took a rock to sculpture a statue!

If the above-mentioned visits might be accomplished, alas maybe one could not always see the horse from its tail some hair were taken to make the cords of a violin!

Sheepeople

Our stories

“They are pursuing nothing at all,” “They are asleep in there, or if they are not asleep they are yawning” (Antoine de Saint ExupéryThe Little Prince, xxii).

It looks like that people always need some “bigs” in their lives:

big mommy or maybe big daddy, alternatively big brother or big sister!

Since they have nostalgia for something or some place, longing for whom they do not know…

And it’s only round and round!

Therefore, they drag their feelings and step

Behind their passionate emotions

Running

Not knowing where they will last

Like tramps and strays

Waiting for who they might walk behind

To discover themselves

Since they are lost

They do not have anything to do except waiting!

Before them a leader who does not look behind him

They yearn to him and walk

Some at the crossroads wait for the solution

the happy ending

To unleash their sensations and feelings and passions and sentiments…

They perpetuate evil wickedness, commit sins and transgressions, hurting each other

and then find a logical reasonable justification by throwing the cause over the devil!

They fail in their relationships and in their management…

then they ascribe it to the will of God!

They pin their hopes on corporations and institutions and banks which were the cause of their crisis and bankruptcy.

For in each time, time after time… they trust people who they do not know and do not have the slightest idea about them or their hobbies…

Yet they re-elect, at each new mandate, once more the same people who had cheated and lied them in the past election, and who still discharge and evacuate before them their electoral pledges /promises swollen by golden paper banknotes!

They come back to watch athletes who had deceived/tricked them… who the  competent authorities have proved their doping/use of drugs and they see in them examples for their lives and the lives of their children!

They invest their money in casinos as well as in bourses to gain the ungainable,

and they seek refuge in drugs and similar substances to forget the unforgettable…

and they also turn to insurance companies aiming to save the unsavable!

They boast of establishments, which have a very high price at the cost of moral and human lives… or they have fun at other’s expenses… and do not graduate good experts and competent people of some specializations but rather suppressed and oppressed sick and not only subjugated citizens, but sheepeople!

However,
after the inhalation of poisons,

and the taste of the relish of the calamity and the rout.

After the fall of the horse

and its weltering in the dirt.

People turn to their past…

Is it the reason to wake up?

Or perhaps to be aware or lucid?

They look at those stories from the immemorial putrefactive past,

which have no sense anymore and have no benefits or advantages of making them comeback, which are not possible to be changed!

That are dead stories or stories of the dead.

Then they plunge in sorrow,

in their sadness and grieves,

giving themselves up to depression,

to melancholy

to apathy,

They reproach and dress down destiny,

blame circumstances,

They throw responsibility over fate!

Is life a lottery?

Yes! In a part of it.

However, on the other hand it is the responsibility of the human, the individual person!

So carry your own risk and responsibility and walk!

The Pope ONDER fire!…

The Pope ONDER (*) fire!…

Markets, Economy, Markets, Economyand Markets and Economy…

These are abstract entities that float over us, rule our lives and it seems that nobody can run away from them. We blame the “Markets” or “The Economy” for our misfortunes and we forget – because our minds have been “programmed” for that with the excess of opinions by experts in everything and because our memories are ‘short’- that behind the Markets there are people – financiers, bankers, marketeers – and behind the Economy there are the economists. Yet, it is always easier to blame
untouchable entities, out of our reach because we will sleep peacefully every night – after all we can always say that the tendency of the Markets is unfavourable and that the Economy is not responding to the various stimulus plans implemented here and there. Next morning, we will wake up in the same disposition to read all, listen to all and blame the same invisible ‘devils’ we
had blamed before. This way, no one will be accounted for irresponsibility or fraud and corruption will remain hidden behind the bank accounts of few smart administrators.

Pope Benedict XVI said:

“The economy cannot function as a self-regulated economy.”

“Man must be at the economy’s centre, which is not profit but solidarity,” (August 18, 2011).

The Bishop of Rome is trying to be on the right side of History. However, if we take a look at History, as Popes are the Predecessors, under the Period of the Religious State (Catholic was indeed) we can find these examples: from the Crusades to the Inquisition, the army of the Popes and Vatican was conquering lands and territories, committing murders and killing many people – in the name of God maybe – but for sure it was for its own interests and not for Faith’s sake. They were on the wrong side of History.

The Pope, attentive to the trends of public opinion and, consequently, not immune to this current economistic wave, sentimentally appealed for an economy with the Man at its centre. Wise words; like in the song, when the faithful find themselves in times of trouble, His Holiness comes to them speaking words of wisdom. He is doing His job. He is drawing the attention for the injustices that affect so many, the never-ending inequities. He is showing His vision of a fairer community of nations – ideally a Utopia, long dreamt of by Thomas More and so many other brilliant minds.

Notwithstanding, it is too simple to say, as the Pope did, that the economy should benefit people; because if we reverse the coin to its other side and ask Him about the benefit of His actions and his Church for people, on the one hand, and about the business, the same as other businesses that the Catholic Church manages, on the other, what will the answer be?…

All this reminds us of Martin Luther who, in the 16th century, initiated the Reform against the Catholic Church and its use of money and other issues, since it used what is considered Holy as a means to get money from the believers. The same course of action is still perpetuating nowadays:

- prayers continue to be paid – the believers have to pay for Masses’ Intentions and in some dioceses there are even price lists for them;

- the canonization of Saints is transformed into a big business and places where these saints are originally from became, not a sanctuary, but rather business centres where millions of over all kinds of currencies are shed.

Moreover, as we were listening to the inflated speeches and watching the reactions of the joyful believers, the images of a world in crisis crossed our minds: the lines of people on the dole and the desperate eyes of children starving in Somalia struck us like a lightning. We know, for example, that the costs for the protection of the Pope in his trips are outrageous, (and it does not matter who is paying…) when the world is going through huge economic problems and when humanity is threatened by famine and other losses. (…)“many young people look worriedly to the future, as they search for work, or because they have lost their job or because the one they have is precarious or uncertain.” , His Sanctity said. We felt then a sudden desire to ask His Sanctity which world is this we are living in, where the opulence of the Church he represents obfuscates the ability of reasoning on so much misery; we wished to understand how can prayers help the survival of the unfortunate and how can His Church influence the present leaders of the world to reverse this tendency: a society in which only some 15% possess a lot more than the remaining 85%.

The words of the Bishop of Rome are words of wisdom but only those who follow His Church have heard them. The rest of us know that the greed of the powerful (His Church included) will continue to rule. Sadly, the Catholic Church has long been connected with money scandals and lack of transparency and ethics in its businesses, taking advantage of the fluctuations
of the very same economy His Holiness is now claiming must be at the service of Men. The Catholic Church runs, with huge profits, its own businesses, its own interests, in which Human Beings have no place or role; in which Human Beings
pay the price of the beliefs of the Catholic Church; in which it is not the lives of Humans that matter but the survival of the Mater et Magister in its power, authority and teachings; in which the dogmas have the priority, instructions take the first place, documents of various kinds and types are leading; and if you seek for the Human Being in there, you will find not her/him
but rather the Sabbath. And in all this jumble, we may ask where the interest or the profit for Human Beings is or where can we see Humans at the centre.

Thus, we will put the issue on the table and wonder what is the profit or use or help for People:

- Catholics pay for their discordant opinions and their words and verbs, in the Religion of the Verb and Word, by anathemas and excommunication, as well as all humans from other religions are detached from the joy of paradise and dispatched into the hands of devils only for they do not  belong to the Catholic Church (how easy it is to love the whole humanity and hate one’s neighbour!)

- There is no control over how money is used, for what purpose or necessity: investiture of cardinals costs large sums of money, not to mention expensive colourful clothes- the Encolpion, Mitres, the golden sceptres…

- It supports dictatorships against the will of people, where the believers have the same performance as personal worship – youths in the JMJ (World Youth Day) claimed: “We love the Pope!” or “Long live the pope!”; “This is the youth of the pope!”. And the same forms of gatherings or meetings – we invoke, for example, the “Youth Groups of the Communist Parties” and the “Fedayeen Saddam” and the” Nazi battalions”, where young people cheered the Secretary General or the President with similar slogans. Peculiar solidarity, we would say!…

Could anybody find in these any

  • Ethics?
  • Responsibility for the other?
  • Human way with respect for the other?
  • Responsibility for the world?
  • Responsibility for the future?
  • Protection of our planet?

However, is it not that:

“If Yahweh does not build a house

in vain do its builders toil.

If Yahweh does not guard a city

in vain does its guard keep watch.

In vain you get up earlier,

and put off going to bed,

sweating to make a living,

since it is he who provides for his
beloved as they sleep.”
(Psalm 127: 1-2).

As His Holiness repeats in His prayers with this psalm of Trust in Providence?

Discussion between two Catholics: protection why?

1: Papa mobile, a mass of personal Security and Policemen and a huge cost, why all this…?

2: The evil is working in the world, you know the devil and its powerful strength!

1: I am a very simple man, I do not know about theology neither could I conceive its concepts or conceptions and nor am I an expert on Bible interpretation or exegesis… but I wonder:

Aren’t the faithful praying:

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains;

where is my help to come from?

My help comes from Yahweh

who made heaven and earth.

May he save your foot from stumbling;

may he, your guardian, not fall asleep!

You see — he neither sleeps nor slumbers,

the guardian of Israel

Yahweh is your guardian, your shade,

 Yahweh, at your right hand.

By day the sun will not strike you,

nor the moon by night.

Yahweh guards you from all harm

Yahweh guards your life,

henceforth and for ever.” (Psalm 121).

Is it not the Pope who said to young people at the JMJ: “With [God] with them, they will get the light to walk and reasons for hope…” (JMJ 2011/Madrid).

Are not the believers who every Sunday hear the Pope saying they have to rely on God and let their lives be guided and
built by Him…?

Are not the believers who have a profound faith in “The Divine Providence”? And accept that the Omniscient and Almighty God who foresees the future, knows the good of Catholics best, takes care of them, and so they should have confidence in Him, since He solves, according to Catholic doctrine, the most difficult issues and makes also miracles for the sake of believers?

Has not been unveiled to the faithful, not the mystery which is concealed from the eternity, but the secret (the third secret of Fátima), which was hidden for almost 100 years?

And lastly do not the faithful believe in the Apostolic Succession?

Therefore, the words that a poet once said about such people seem to be right: “Without mincing words, it portrays that society as a cabal of self-interested venomous wretches huddling about the throne in a greedy throng, the hangmen who kill liberty, genius, and glory…” (Mikhail Lermontov). in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikhail_Lermontov.

The words of the Wise Man, Pope Benedict XVI, ”Ces mots tendres enrobés de douceur”, “ces mots magiques, ces mots tactiques”, “comme caramels, bonbons et chocolats”, (**) should be addressed to:

- humanity, the whole humanity, they could be for the sake of each Human Being without any difference or distinction or discrimination:

- all religions and confessions: Muslims, Protestants, Jews, Buddhists…

- all Parties: Communist, Green, Nazi, Royalist…

- all human colours: red, yellow, black, white…

Yes, they could be useful and helpful for everyone. But, they are just, as a famous song says, “Encore des mots toujours des mots, les mêmes mots”. – “Parole, Parole, Parole…” (**)

We firmly believe that only when political, economic and religious systems are cleaned of all the dirt and wrongdoings that infect them, can we speak of a solidary economy, with the Man at its centre, at the service of all and not at the service of ideologies or interests. His Sanctity is a highly educated intellectual and is well aware of this – he should not speak the words of God in vain. He should know better.

Eventually, the Church can sleep in peace every night. If there is any abstract entity to blame, “It’s the Economy, stupid!…”

Death and political correctness

Death and political correctness

A bullet was shot, a man fell dead and trumpets echoed in several tones.

People gathered dancing and cheering, their eyes wide open
and their hands well up in the air. They could sing their most hidden hatred,
they would expel their most concealed fears. – Victory!… – they cried and
their shouting was heard here and there, everywhere around the western world.

Politicians greeted one another, shaking hands and sighing
with relief, their teeth scintillating under the flashes of the cameras, as
luminous as the morning star. And medals were awarded for the act of bravery.

The media did their job – speeches, suppositions, analysis
and predictions were spread at the speed of light…

Aahhh……… the Planet can now sleep the whole night through, as no nightmare will haunt us again. Aren’t we better and morally irreproachable?

So let’s all drink to the death of a clown

Won’t someone help me to break up this crowd

Let’s all drink to the death of a clown

Let’s all drink to the death of a clown

The Kinks, Death of a Clown

Just like the night turns into day, friends of the past turn into enemies in the present.

Time goes by and memories are short.

The dreamer who was awarded Nobel Prize for peace

because he had a dream,

now he does not dream peace dreams anymore,

since dreams froze and nightmares arose!

So we are sure he wouldn’t win this prize again…

But he will dream clean face dreams.

A bullet was shot and a man was killed.

Who cares?

Does it matter?

Let us rejoice.

Let us all drink to the death of a man.

War… again!

Posted in: Out Of The Shade | Comments (16)

War… again!

Stripping down to the… Wars

The after war dream started:

“And hold on to the dream

A place to stay

Enough to eat

Somewhere old heroes shuffle safely down the street

Where you can speak out loud

About your doubts and fears

And what’s more no-one ever disappears

You never hear their standard issue kicking in your door

You can relax on both sides of the tracks

And maniacs don’t blow holes in bandsmen by remote control

And everyone has recourse to the law

And no-one kills the children anymore”

(The Gunner’s DreamThe final cut – Pink Floyd)

The ghostly apparition of Big Brother, who never has been gone, in no miraculous circumstances was not expected, however the dimension of this event only surprises us, for it has imprinted not only his presence but of little-big-brothers too. This time indeed the concern is very high: the salvation of the world, on which all of the following take care:

The one who does not accept any other word at home but his own and even beats his own children.

Those who flog and chastise students.

Companies that hire people and specially children to work in slave labour conditions.

The one who uses violence against children: the paedophiles – or better miso-paedies – who are usually called sex-tourists, who travel to impoverished countries to sexually exploit children as well as those travelling abroad to buy organs for transplants from impoverished people.

Those who are exposing proudly their children on the social networks.

The one who walks on the street dreaming as well as the one who fishes birds in the skies!

The ambulant with his donkey selling masks as well as the businessman selling arms!

The one who was educated at Holiday Schools where he was taught how to be logical and responsible and practical, as well as the one who was educated at Vacations Universities where he was taught how to be clinical and intellectual and cynical!

The professors at Grandes Écoles and Universities (such as Harvard, Cambridge, l’Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris, Oxford, Yale, Sandhurst, Stamford) who had educated and prepared the most world’s leaders!

Those who torture women by various ways: applying on them circumcision or genital cutting, rape, burning their schools…

The one who has kissed the hand and now he is breaking it!

The Parties: the blues, reds, greens (even the bombs are not ecologists) and the Tea (is tea party a green tea or red one? Is it homemade or imported? For it is said that the best tea taste is the Chinese. We pondered on founding a Coffee party, but because there are risks of a war between Coffee countries and Tea countries, so we renounced!).

Rich countries with economic and financial problems that are on the edge of abyss and bankruptcy, that even have no money to provide food for their own people; they use weapons only god – or perhaps some Gods – may know their costs!

The ministers of Defence who are reading in their bureaux, which overlook a belle view, that the trade of arms is lowering 50%!

Halleluiah! Yet religions that teach that their own members will land surly on paradise and those other religions’ members shall certainly putrefy in hell!

All of them are willing to raise democracy and freedom… in the whole world, to implant the artificial healing organs.

But “did you believe in their stories of fame fortune and glory”? (Paranoid Eyes – Final cut -Pink Floyd).

On one hand, we discover that “The pie in the sky turned out to be too high” (Paranoid Eyes – Final cut -Pink Floyd), because, instead the real consequences, which no one seems to ponder over, are: epidemics, misery, famine… and they are the same civilians, the surviving ones of course, with whom everybody is worrying about, that will stand these consequences!

And on the other hand, the heroes “shall polish their medals” and “will be lost in a haze of alcohol soft middle age”! (Paranoid Eyes – Final cut -Pink Floyd).

Anyway, every single person amid them is worried about democracy and freedom in the whole world (in other area than his own), and every single person amid them is worried about civilians who are threatened to fall dead in this war. Everyone is anxious about civilians, but nobody apparently considers seriously the death of those who are actually making the war: the members of the army, as if they are not civilians or civilized people. Since, at least, once they were civilians before their enlistment in the army.

Their parents who maybe encourage them to assume this step.

Hasn’t any of them known or been aware beforehand that they would, one day, attack and kill civilians as they chose this job?

Ouch!

We were forgetting that has an honourable aim: the defence of the Homeland!

Yes, the Defence Army that has as purpose to preserve the peace and security, and provide for the defence of the country!

Oh dears!

But we wonder:

Why is the Defence Army never acting inside, but always abroad?

(perhaps it is remote-control defence strategy!).

However, we should not forget that there is a tendency to give to wars a kind of “romantic” aura… heroism and daring… fight for the land, for principles, etc. they even say that wars are necessary to keep peace… what a cynicism!

Human beings are grasping, in the 21st century, by the same way as their ancestors of the remote ages (icy age and on). Indeed they still believe to solve their problems by struggling against each other by war: it looks like we are still in the vicious circle of wars, the never ending war: some are asking for help, so troops are sent to support them, and those who the supporters war against are disposing to ask help against them, and help after help the world will live under wars’ yelp.

Nevertheless,

The dream is still going on:

“Imagine there’s no heaven, it’s easy if you try

No hell below us, above only sky

Imagine all the people living for today ah

Imagine there’s no countries, it isn’t hard to do

Nothing to kill or die for

And no religion too

Imagine all the people living life in peace

You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one

I hope someday you’ll join us

And the world will be as one

Imagine no possession, I wonder if you can

No need for greed or hunger , a brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people all the

people sharing all the world

You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one

I hope someday you’ll join us

And the world will live as one”

(Imagine – John Lennon)

The price of knowledge

Posted in: At a Glance | Comments (27)

The price of knowledge

It is hard to know what isn’t there for sale… how easy it is to give each thing a fictitious value that is then transformed into money… we sell and buy flowers or jewels or images and an uncountable amount of other things that surround us wherever we are, follow us wherever we go, sleep with us, wake up with us when we open our lazy eyes in the morning. We die as we are born: naked; but, little by little, our personal universe gains another dimension as we watch, grab or touch the lifeless objects that complement our existence. They are as natural to us as the air we breathe, as the joyful smile in a happy occasion, as the tears we cry for a lost first love, as the words we learned while we were growing up.

Moreover, as time goes by, we get accustomed to acquiring a scientific book, a technical magazine, or even a thin sheet of paper, in which some information was previously written to teach us something about something. We buy what can be added to what we already knew, always hoping to learn more.

We cannot cease this process of buying what will – supposedly – meet our physical and intellectual needs. We are only a tiny piece of this unstoppable merchandising wheel. To attain knowledge, we pay for it, regardless of its being transmitted in a class at a primary school or in a lecture at a renowned university. Knowledge is thus also engraved into the selling/buying process as if it were a measurable and quantifiable commodity. We are the passive consumers, ready to purchase whatever we believe can enrich our lives. Knowledge – as well as sex – is marketable and we pay for both as we pay for a pair of shoes. There are no limits for the efforts to make of us all brainless buying machines.
In a world that blindly venerates the rule of money and in which everything is for sale, what measure is used to quantify knowledge? If a palpable object has a price, what is the exact value of the intangible information, in the most various fields, which we fill in our minds with? How much does a mathematical equation cost? What is the charge for a chemistry’s formula? And will a sentence written in Latin be more expensive than its equivalent written in modern French or German?

However, unless some expert comes up and proves that the knowledge that we have accumulated during a lifetime has the same market value as a touchable encyclopaedia, or costs as much as a brand new car, we will keep on considering that there is a sparkle of reasoning left in many of us ; we are aware that money may buy you a bed, but it cannot give you rest or sleep; it may buy you books but not culture; embellishments but not beauty; a residence not a home, drugs and not health, luxury and not contentment, entertainment and not happiness. It provides you a religion but not salvation. It gives you a passport to any place other than heaven.

So, despite the established thinking that sets apart the “haves” from the “have nots” and divinizes the abundance of objects one owns, we are still able to draw an imaginary line to separate what can from what cannot be bought or sold; and that reasoning is, undoubtedly, the clear and obvious proof that knowledge is priceless.
